Maeve Sheehy, a sophomore who suffers from narcolepsy and a related condition, shared her story of personal triumph with a sold-out crowd during Saturday’s TEDxNatick event, reports The MetroWest Daily News.

For Sheehy, her story began the summer she turned 13. She was tired all the time, even falling asleep in the time it took to tie her shoes. Things only got worse when school started again in the fall.

“I tried to explain to my parents and teachers how tired I was,” she said, “but I was a teenager, and all teenagers get tired.”
