Getting enough sleep—quantity and quality-wise—helps in the healing processes of anyone challenged with any illness specifically cancer, reports The Gulf Today.

Twenty-five years ago, Dr Irshaad Ebrahim found sleep medicine “very interesting” and unexplored. He told The Gulf Today that much as it has been proven that inadequate sleep is linked to the lifestyle diseases of obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular ailments, research studies done in Europe and the Americas in the last four to five years have revealed the correlation among sleep quality, sleep duration and the optimum outcomes in the treatment of cancer.
