Bfit Sleep LLC adds the REMflx (pronounced REM-flex) spring-driven dynamic oral appliance to its line of devices for obstructive sleep apnea. The Bfit REMflx uses the same technology as the Bfit Sleep 3D Appliance but adds a spring. The device is dynamic, which Bfit defines as having the ability to titrate the mandible forward during sleep staging where the mandibular muscles are relaxed and allow the mandible freedom of movement as well as full recovery to neutral positioning when awake or transitioning into the next stage of sleep.

According to Bfit’s internal data, a recent study of 100 Bfit appliances users shows no perceived occlusal change after one year of wearing a Bfit devices. This new device (REMflx) means patients with obstructive sleep apnea receive the same technology of the original Bfit Sleep 3D device without having to change elastics.

The REMflx can be designed with as little as 1.4 mm thickness all the way up to a 2.0 mm thickness and with any desired vertical. It is made of a biocompatible flex soft material capable of chairside adjustments with warm water for an optimal fit.

“I believe the REMflx Sleep Appliance is the needed change in oral appliance therapy that will allow for fewer side effects and more compliance in a very non-compliant industry,” says Chris Gillette, RPSGT, inventor and co-owner of Bfit Sleep, in a release. The devices can be ordered using any scanning system and are compatible with impressions.

Bfit REMflx turnaround time is 5 business days and its warranty is 3 years.
