The Canadian Men’s Health Foundation reports that, on average, men in Canada are not getting enough sleep, reports 630 CHED.
As sleep is our body’s main way of resting and regenerating, this can compound existing health problems and help lead to serious issues; things like heart attacks, Type-2 Diabetes, and prostate cancer.
Foundation president Wayne Hartrick says they did a survey which showed almost half of men are getting less than the required amount of sleep.
“Less than seven hours, more like six or five hours of sleep,” he says. “And there are a number of things which are interfering with that.”
Hartrick says things like social media, video games or television can stimulate your mind.
