Fusion Sleep, a provider of transportation sleep medicine services, has appointed global risk management expert Ray Bucci to its Transportation Business Advisory Board.

Bucci joins transportation finance expert Mitch Poole as the newest member of Fusion Sleep’s Transportation Business Advisory Board. Bucci brings over 40 years of experience in insurance, risk management, and operational oversight of public companies globally to the board.

“Ray offers our Transportation Business Advisory Board deep expertise in risk management and critical success factors such as accident prevention and expense controls,” said Sigurjon Kristjansson, CEO of Fusion Sleep. “Ray’s wealth of experience and insight into the risk management, insurance, and food retailer sectors will guide us as we develop our programs to offer the most effective and profitable sleep solutions for safety conscious companies.”

The Fusion Sleep program is an integrated team consisting of experienced full-time board-certified sleep medicine physicians, technologists, therapists, and many other sleep medicine professionals who are trained to treat all sleep disorders. The company’s Sleep4Safety program provides a comprehensive and tailored medical service for nationwide trucking fleets utilizing their Medically Managed Care Model. The program removes the risks and prevents the costs associated with untreated sleep disorders in fleets without disrupting productivity through its road-tested method of bringing sleep medicine to drivers where they sleep and work.

“Risk management’s greatest expense is workers’ compensation, which is the largest expense overall outside of payroll,” Bucci stated. “Any opportunity to implement accident prevention measures, adding to driver and public safety, is key to controlling expenses, which normally seem out of our control. Sleep programs that prevent accidents for workers, drivers, and in-store customers are a win/win for everyone.”
