DeVilbiss Healthcare, Somerset, Pa, introduces the IntelliPAP® SmartCode™ remote therapy monitoring system with Adherence Score. The SmartCode remotely monitors CPAP compliance data and obtains it with a simple phone call to the patient. This enhanced version of SmartCode is included free of charge on all IntelliPAP Standard and IntelliPAP AutoAdjust units.
The new Adherence Score featured in the enhanced version of SmartCode objectively reports the percentage of the best consecutive 30 days of usage, helping meet Medicare Local Coverage Determination requirements.

SmartCode uses a proprietary encryption method that allows summary therapy and device usage data to be compressed into onboard codes that are displayed on the IntelliPAP display panel. The IntelliPAP Standard CPAP generates two different SmartCodes, while five different SmartCodes are generated with the IntelliPAP AutoAdjust because more specific data is tracked.
To decipher the SmartCode, the clinician or provider acquires specific codes from the IntelliPAP through the patient and then logs onto www.IntelliPAP.com/SmartCode. Here the code is deciphered, and a report is generated that includes text and graphs. The reports can be printed or saved to the provider’s computer.
