In Cornwall, Ontario, Canada, Cornwall Community Hospital announced that after many years of dedicated service the 2 physicians previously supporting the hospital’s sleep lab service have resigned their hospital privileges. “We had originally suspended the service temporarily, hoping to recruit the medical support required for the program,” says Jeanette Despatie, president and CEO of the hospital, in a release. “These efforts were unsuccessful and we have now worked with our partners within the region, including Winchester District Memorial Hospital, to ensure that patients from our community have access to sleep laboratory services.”

Patients requiring these tests are referred to the appropriate sleep lab by their physician. Cornwall Community Hospital is currently in the process of communicating details to local physicians. “We will do whatever we can to ensure good access to these services,” says Despatie.
