Philips Respironics has aligned its BiPAP AVAPS and BiPAP S/T bi-level, noninvasive ventilators with its System One sleep therapy family of devices to enhance functionality for clinicians and patients. For use in the home, hospital, or alternative care sites, BiPAP AVAPS and BiPAP S/T are designed to provide noninvasive ventilator support to COPD, OSA, and respiratory insufficiency patients as young as seven and weighing more than 40 pounds.

Building on System One advanced technologies, these devices allow clinicians to achieve optimum patient/ventilator synchrony, recognize and compensate for leaks, and automatically adjust variable trigger and cycle thresholds to provide bi-level ventilator support as patient needs change. BiPAP AVAPS incorporates Average Volume Assured Pressure Support (AVAPS) and automatically adapts to disease progression. BiPAP S/T triggers on demand or automatically to deliver prescribed therapy. Coupled with advanced System One technologies such as Digital Auto-Trak and EncoreAnywhere and DirectView patient management systems, these small, lightweight, and quiet devices are ideal for treating challenging and changing patient needs.

Philips Respironics has further expanded the functionality of BiPAP AVAPS and BiPAP S/T to include enhanced patient comfort, refined performance, and expanded data access.

“Combining the comprehensive feature set of our System One sleep therapy technology with the advanced capabilities of BiPAP AVAPS and BiPAP S/T provides options that enhance patient comfort and clinical efficiencies,” said Eli Diacopoulos, vice president and general manager, Respiratory Care, Philips Home Healthcare Solutions. “System One alignment also allows clinicians to leverage accessories across all sleep therapy and noninvasive ventilator devices.”
