Millennium Physician Group, an independent physician group practicing in Florida, Texas, and North Carolina, has selected sleep technology company REMware to provide home sleep apnea testing services through its more than 750 health care providers.
REMware is the developer of a home sleep testing patented process, called DreamClear, that simplifies and accelerates the process to meet demand to detect and treat sleep apnea.
“Approximately 42% of Americans have one or more chronic diseases that have a strong comorbid association to undiagnosed or untreated obstructive sleep apnea,” says REMware CEO Arun Ramabadran in a release. “Addressing sleep apnea improves value-based metrics at a lower cost, especially related to expensive health issues such as cardiovascular disease, hypertension, type 2 diabetes, and depression. Providers will see a reduction of ER visits as well as fewer inpatient hospitalizations associated with these diseases.”
Headquartered in Lee County, Fla, Millennium Physician Group adds this home sleep technology to its other areas of diagnostic and wellness care, which include imaging centers, lab services, and home care programs.
“The REMware team is very responsive to the needs of our practice and our patients,” says Millennium’s medical director of sleep medicine, Fariha Abbasi-Feinberg, MD, FAASM, in a release. “I look forward to simplifying the ordering process for our providers and improving access of quality care for our patients.”
REMware maintains a 99% success rate in working with providers to complete the DreamClear home sleep test, due primarily to its technology platform with automated texts, emails, app notifications, and in-house personal support services, according to a release from the company.
“The proprietary technology and process yields the same thorough assessment of obstructive sleep apnea and central sleep apnea when compared to in-lab polysomnography tests, giving providers the opportunity to treat, educate and provide patients with follow-up care virtually and in the comfort of their home,” says Ramabadran in the release.
REMware is based in Tampa, Fla, and serves clients nationwide.
