The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has issued a [removed]proposed rule[/removed] for the 2014 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule to update payment policies and payment rates for services billed on or after January 1, 2014.
CMS proposes RVUs for CY 2014, updates to the geographic practice cost indexes, and other Medicare Part B payment policies to ensure that its payment systems are updated to reflect changes in medical practice and the relative value of services.
A [removed]display copy[/removed] of the rule has been posted, and public comments will be accepted until September 6, 2013. CMS plans to finalize the rule by approximately November 1, 2013.
The American Academy of Sleep Medicine will be conducting an analysis of the proposed rule and will provide updated information to sleep medicine professionals in future editions of its Weekly Update.
