This year the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) celebrates the 30th anniversary of the RPSGT credential. As part of the celebration, the BRPT has added a special section to its Web site in honor of the work of RPSGTs across the United States. [removed]Life as an RPSGT[/removed] features 100-word stories submitted by readers. To participate, send your 100-word snapshot of life as an RPSGT (why you chose to become an RPSGT, a breakthrough moment, etc) to [email protected]. Write “Life as an RPSGT” in the subject line, and be sure to include your name, a jpeg photo, and a caption for your photo.

In related news, the BRPT is in the midst of conducting a job task analysis study, which occurs every few years to ensure that the RPSGT exam content is relevant to real-world responsibilities such as best practices and current technology. Results of the study will impact the exam beginning in 2010. Respondents will be asked to rate the frequency and importance of each task noted in the survey.
