The new Beddit 3 Sleep Tracker provides personal insights to help develop the habits for better sleep, according to the Finland-based company, and it is now integrated with eClinicalWorks and Healow, an electronic healthcare record (EHR) service with more than 115,000 physicians across all 50 states.

The Beddit Sleep Report provides a 2-week summary of sleep, recovery, and breathing in the terms and format that personal trainers, therapists, and healthcare professionals immediately understand, Beddit states. Integration with the Health app on iPhone makes it easy for users to choose to share sleep results with thousands of fitness and health applications.

“BlueSleep Center chose Beddit because it checked every box like no other consumer sleep tracker,” says New York-based sleep apnea specialist, Jordan Stern, MD, founder and CEO of BlueSleep, in a release. “The device is affordable and, crucially, does not distract from sleep while properly measuring it. Beddit delivers the total package. We will use the Beddit 3 Sleep Tracker as part of our new sleep telemedicine service.”

Lasse Leppäkorpi, co-founder and CEO of Beddit, says, “The Beddit 3 Sleep Tracker continues Beddit’s leadership in providing the most accurate and comprehensive sleep tracker with nothing to wear. It is the only sleep tracker that continuously measures sleep, heart rate, breathing, and snoring in detail. The new temperature and humidity measurements provide a complete understanding of the sleeping environment.”

The Beddit 3 Sleep Tracker is ambient. The thin, flexible, and soft sensor is placed under the sheet on top of the mattress. No charging or battery is needed. It works with all beds and tracks the sleep of the person sleeping on the sensor, even with two people in the same bed, according to Beddit.

The Beddit 3 SleepTracker senses and automatically begins tracking when a person lies down in bed, and its Smart Alarm wakes one up in the morning.

The Beddit 3 Sleep Tracker is available at select Apple Stores, Amazon.com, and Beddit.com on Oct 4 for $149. The Beddit Sleep Tracker app is now available for iPhone and Apple Watch including iOS 10 and watchOS 3.

Beddit uses ballistocardiography, through an ultra-thin force-sensing strip, to measure nighttime activity without any wearable sensors. The science underpinning Beddit’s sleep tracking and scoring system was developed in partnership with the Helsinki Sleep Clinic, VitalMed Research Center, and professor Markku Partinen, MD.
