Sleep technology company Responsive Surface Technology (ReST) was named a 2015 CES Innovation Awards Honoree for its sleeping surface in the Fitness, Sports and Biotech product category. This award was bestowed by an independent panel of judges composed of industrial designers, engineers, and journalists that has been recognizing achievements in product design and engineering since 1976.

The ReST sleeping surface dynamically adapts to every body contour and movement throughout the night to provide a fully customized sleep environment that optimizes sleep quality in order to achieve peak physical and mental performance, the company says. Developed using the patented Adaptive Sleep Thinking system, ReST incorporates pressure sensing fabric that has been proven effective by medical centers including the Atlanta Spine Center and Memorial Sloan-Kettering.

“Technology has been helping people improve the effectiveness of fitness programs and diet regimens for years, and we are thrilled to provide a solution that shines a spotlight on the importance of quality sleep in any healthy lifestyle,” says Lloyd Sommers, general manager of ReST, in a release. “This honor from an organization as respected as the Consumer Electronics Association is quite humbling and indicates that the world is ready to get serious about its rest.”

The ReST sleeping surface was displayed at CES Unveiled New York alongside other honorees November 11 and will officially launch at the International CES, which runs January 6-9 in Las Vegas.
