On May 3, 2010, Philips Healthcare appointed Brent Shafer to lead Philips Home Healthcare Solutions as CEO of the global business. Shafer succeeds Don Spence, who served as CEO since 2008.
Since joining Philips in 2005, Shafer has held key leadership positions, including a 5-year tenure as the head of the Philips Healthcare North America Sales and Service organization, and his additional role as EVP and CEO of Philips North America.
In his role as CEO of Home Healthcare Solutions, Shafer will be focused on driving the growth of the business and furthering its strategy to bridge the hospital and home with products and solutions in sleep, respiratory care, and home monitoring.
“With his strong leadership, extensive health care background, and customer focus, I cannot think of a better person to lead our Home Healthcare business into the future,” said Steve Rusckowski, CEO, Philips Healthcare. “Under Brent’s leadership and that of our existing management team, Home Healthcare will continue to grow its business and focus on the needs of customers and the patients they serve.”
