Sleep For Nurses, a branch of Sleep Synergy Inc, offers a comprehensive 2-day training event to teach nurses how to recognize, assess, and refer patients with sleep disorders. The seminar, Fundamentals of Sleep, is designed to counter the lack of education on sleep medicine found in nursing schools.

The seminar is also designed to prepare nurses for possible new opportunities in sleep medicine.

Training will be conducted by Robyn Woidtke, RN, RPSGT, who served on the Board of what is now the American Association of Sleep Technologists.

The Fundamentals of Sleep seminar will be held in San Francisco on February 19-20, 2010. Registration and more information are available on the Sleep For Nurses Web site. The course is provider-approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, for 13 contact hours.
