Korean sleep tech company debuted SOMNUM Cloud at SLEEP 2025.

At SLEEP 2025, Korea-based HoneyNaps unveiled a cloud version of its SOMNUM artificial intelligence (AI)-powered sleep software. The new SOMNUM Cloud, an AI solution for automated analysis of polysomnography (PSG) data, allows users to upload EDF files extracted from PSG systems to the cloud, where the AI engine analyzes the data and generates a report—with no software installation required.

Interestingly, the company also supported an oral presentation about whether sleep staging is possible via only electrocardiogram (ECG) data. In a 30-person study, the investigators found the ECG alone model yielded high accuracy for sleep staging: wake 81.5%, REM 85.9%, N1 77.4%, N2 82.2%, N3 83%, and intraclass correlation of total sleep time was 0.97.

HoneyNaps recently obtained ISO/IEC 27001 certification for the cloud version of SOMNUM Cloud and completed the HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) compliance assessment in the United States.

According to HoneyNaps, the company is now discussing potential strategic collaborations.   “With its cloud-based architecture, streamlined implementation process, and HIPAA compliance, more than 100 US medical institutions expressed interest in potential adoption,” says Taekyoung (Sean) Ha, PhD, president of HoneyNaps USA, in a release.

“We remain committed to rigorously complying with country-specific regulations and certification requirements to build a trustworthy healthcare service environment and establish a world-class AI-driven medical data management system.”
