Artificial intelligence (AI)-powered diagnostics company EnsoData announced that its diagnostic AI analysis and sleep scoring solution, EnsoSleep, earned stage-specific autoscoring software certification from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM).

EnsoData received US Food and Drug Administration clearance for EnsoSleep in 2017 and received an additional clearance in 2021 for new capabilities and enhancements.

According to the AASM, the AASM Autoscoring Certification program is “designed to rigorously assess and certify autoscoring software systems that analyze adult sleep stages via in-lab polysomnograms, ensuring they meet the AASM’s high standards for accuracy and reliability.”

EnsoSleep uses AI and machine learning to analyze data from sleep studies to aid physicians in diagnosing sleep disorders. According to a release form EnsoData, organizations utilizing EnsoSleep experience significant time savings—on average 62% for polysomnography and 68% for home sleep apnea testing.
