The American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine (AADSM) has introduced a Dental Sleep Medicine Facility Accreditation program aimed at ensuring that accredited facilities exhibit proficiency and professionalism regarding the treatment of patients with sleep-related breathing disorders.
“Facility accreditation is a voluntary process created to evaluate and recognize competency and delivery of optimal care to dental sleep medicine patients,” an announcement from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine stated. “Facilities that achieve accreditation illustrate to their patients, medical professionals, and reimbursement decision-makers that they meet the high standards required to provide quality patient care.”
