It’s almost her bed time, but four-year-old Shy’n Leon is wide awake, giggling happily atop a hospital bed twice her size at SickKids, proudly showing off her zebra slippers and colourful pyjamas.

“Is that going to hurt me?” she asks nervously as Jeremy Gibbons, one of the hospital’s sleep technicians, pulls out a tray of colourful wires.
