Jackie Warner said she had taken an Ambien at home and the next thing she knew she was in the hospital under arrest, reports TMZ.
Her lawyer, Shawn Holley, tells TMZ, “We have letters and reports from Jackie’s doctors which prove a long history of insomnia and which strongly support our contention that Jackie was driving unconscious after taking Ambien, which had been prescribed to her.”
The Sleep Review summary failed to mention she blew a .08 BAT at the scene and admitted to a martini earlier in the evening.
Ambien has warnings about use with alcohol.
IMHO this appears to be her lawyer’s trying to establish reasonable doubt rather than a legitimate medical issue. The States Attorney reviewed the Ambien claim by her lawyers and still filed charges.
