ResMed has acquired Jaysec, a Knoxville, Tenn-based provider of Internet-based software solutions for the home medical equipment (HME) industry. Jaysec’s products help HME providers resupply their patients and communicate with referring medical providers.

“Jaysec’s products streamline key HME business practices such as resupply, allowing home medical equipment providers to focus on delivering quality care for their patients,” says Raj Sodhi, president of ResMed’s Healthcare Informatics Global Business Unit, in a release. “Acquiring Jaysec furthers our commitment to helping HMEs drive business efficiencies while delivering positive patient outcomes. We’re excited to bring Jaysec into the ResMed fold, and we look forward to supporting existing and new customers alike.”

Jaysec offers an automated resupply solution—GoJaysec—that uses interactive voice, text, and secured e-mail communications to direct patients to a self-serve portal for easy authorization of HME resupplies, including CPAP masks and accessories. This targeted, periodic communication automates the resupply process. The portal offers a cost-effective solution while reducing the administrative burden for the HME.

Jaysec was founded in 2002 and currently serves nearly 100 HME customers in the United States, including most national HME accounts as well as a smaller number of home health providers. The Jaysec products will now be offered by ResMed.
