Philips Respironics, Murrysville, Pa, introduces the FullLife full-face mask. The mask does not include a forehead pad in order to provide a clear line of sight for the wearer, while still covering both the nose and mouth. The FullLife mask features a dual-textured cushion intended to reduce leak and create a solid seal even when the patient moves. The mask also includes a step-by-step numbered headgear system. One faceplate fits all three available sizes (small, medium, and large). The FitPack and DuoPack fitting and supply replacement options are also available for the FullLife mask.
The mask is being launched first in the United States, then in Canada, and the company expects a worldwide launch in September 2009.
