Instant Diagnostic Systems (IDS), an independent diagnostic testing facility (IDTF) providing in-home testing, has been contracted with Aetna to provide home sleep testing (HST) and overnight pulse-oximetry testing to its members nationwide.
Under the new contract, members of Aetna’s network-based plans will be able to receive covered benefits at in-network rates for HST and overnight pulse-oximetry testing from IDS.
Aetna considers unattended home sleep monitoring using a Type II, III, or IV device medically necessary to diagnose obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) in members with symptoms of OSA.
