Harold A. Smith, DDS, is a diplomat of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine. He has practiced dental sleep medicine for the past 22 years as part of a medical team treating patients with obstructive sleep apnea. Smith is president-elect of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and a board member.
Mayoor Patel, DDS, MS, is owner of Atlanta’s Craniofacial Pain and Dental Sleep Center of Georgia and a consultant to other dentists who want to better understand their role in dental sleep medicine, craniofacial pain, and TMD treatment. He serves as adjunct clinical instructor in the Department of Oral Health and Diagnostic Sciences at Georgia Regents University’s College of Dental Medicine. Patel is a founding member of the Georgia Association of Sleep Professionals.
Scott Craig has served as CEO of Midwest Dental Sleep Center (MDSC) since 2007. It is one of a handful of clinics in the world focused exclusively on providing dental sleep medicine services to patients suffering from sleep-related breathing disorders. Craig is a recipient of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine’s 2014 Clinical Research Award. He is also a member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and the Illinois Sleep Society.
Daniel Klauer, DDS, has limited his practice to treating craniofacial pain and sleep disordered breathing. Klauer is a diplomat of the American Board of Craniofacial Pain. He is a member of the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain, American Academy of Orofacial Pain, and American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine. He also lectures internationally teaching the protocols utilized by TMJ & Sleep Therapy Centres International in 28 centers in five countries. Located in South Bend, Ind, Klauer has established a mutually beneficial relationship with Douglas R. Liepert, MD, who is boarded in both otolaryngology and sleep medicine.
