Philips has unveiled an enhanced headgear option for its DreamWear Nasal and Gel Pillows CPAP masks. The new design places the headgear further down on the head and adds arm pieces around the mask (circled in red above) to further improve stability during use.
The headgear arms work like eyeglass arms, helping reduce mask and headgear movement when being used.
According to Philips, patients using the updated headgear say it is even more stable and comfortable, highlighting that the mask stays in place during use and that they were more satisfied with their quality of sleep.
I recently received the new headgear and I do not like it. The original was very soft and comfortable. The new one has hard plastic on the sides and is very uncomfortable.
I agree with Ruth. I don’t sleep in eyeglasses for a reason — the plastic parts hit me square in the temple and create a lot of pain. PLUS – they obviously didn’t test this on people with long hair. I lost a significant amount of hair trying to take it off the first time. The second time, I had to spend several minutes blindly unwinding my hair from where it got caught in these plastic tabs. Terrible new design and now I’m stuck with hundreds of dollars of Dreamwear cusions and a mask that I can’t use.
Awful!! Bring back the previous version!!
Absolutely awful. Bumps from connection to arms is painful and then the my hair gets caught in the connectors every night
