ProSomnus Sleep Technologies has added Edward T. Sall, MD, DDS, MBA as medical director. The sleep physician-dentist will focus on enhancing physician acceptance of oral appliance therapy (OAT) for patients with obstructive sleep apnea.

“As a board-certified sleep physician, otolaryngologist, and dentist trained in sleep medicine, I am in a unique position to drive the acceptance of OAT as the most effective treatment for the majority of patients with OSA,” says Sall, in a release. “I am excited to be involved with a company that embraces the best technology, constant innovation with excellent vision, and leadership. My goal as medical director is to increase the acceptance of OAT for ProSomnus, their dentists, and patients.”

Len Liptak, CEO of ProSomnus, says, “ProSomnus oral appliance therapy devices provide comfortable, efficacious, and affordable therapy for the millions of adults with obstructive sleep apnea who prefer an alternative to CPAP. We are honored to add Dr Sall to our team and are eager to work with him on the educational, scientific, and awareness initiatives that will enhance access to better therapy for more people.”

David Kuhns, vice president of technology for ProSomnus, says, “Dr Sall brings a comprehensive perspective to help support research with our customers and partners in perfect alignment with ProSomnus’ commitment to evidence-based expansion of oral appliance therapy. I am thrilled to have him on board.”

Sall obtained a DDS from Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery. He attended SUNY Upstate Medical Center and received a MD, followed by a 5-year residency in otolaryngology/head and neck surgery. Sall became board certified in sleep medicine in 2012. Sall maintains an active medical and surgical practice in sleep-disordered breathing and has treated over 3,500 patients with oral appliance therapy.
