Sleep diagnostics company SOMNOmedics AG introduces the SOMNOwatch eco, which allows medical professionals to objectively collect sleep and movement data for an extended time and assists in the analysis of the data to identify sleep disorders and motor abnormalities.
The SOMNOwatch eco offers a wide range of applications for medical practices: it monitors the sleep-wake rhythm, detects periodic leg movements, and analyzes tremors. The integrated sensors—including a three-axis movement sensor, a light and position sensor, and a patient marker—enable precise recording of the patient’s activity, sleep patterns, and circadian rhythm.
The SOMNOwatch eco is equipped with a rechargeable Li-ion battery. It provides uninterrupted operation over several weeks. It is water resistant, in accordance with the IPX8 standard. The polyurethane wristband protects against external influences while ensuring comfort.
The SOMNOwatch eco can be used in various ways:
- Actigraphy: records movements as well as the sleep-wake rhythm of patients and enables analysis of the circadian rhythm and exercise status.
- Tremor analysis: The device can be worn to examine low- and high-frequency tremors on the extremities. The data is displayed graphically in the software and can be evaluated using FFT analysis.
- Analysis of periodic leg movements: the SOMNOwatch eco can be worn on the ankle, optionally on both legs simultaneously, to detect and analyze periodic leg movements.
