The collaboration aims to close the sleep apnea awareness gap by directing Oura Ring users with nighttime breathing disturbances to Resmed’s educational and clinical resources.
Key takeaways:
- Resmed and Oura have partnered to help users transition from tracking sleep data to seeking clinical evaluation for potential sleep disorders, including obstructive sleep apnea.
- Oura members in the US who experience frequent nighttime breathing disturbances will be connected to Resmed’s sleep health resources.
- The partnership leverages the growing use of wearable sleep technology, which increased from 16% of adults in 2025 to 53% in 2026, according to a Resmed survey.
Resmed and Oura have announced a partnership to expand access to sleep health education and pathways to care, aiming to help more people identify potential sleep disorders and seek clinical support.
While sleep is increasingly recognized as a key pillar of long-term health, early signs of poor sleep are often dismissed, creating a gap between what people experience and when they seek clinical care. At the same time, the use of wearable technology to track sleep is rising, increasing from 16% of adults in 2025 to 53% in 2026, according to the Resmed Global Sleep Survey 2026.
Insights from wearable devices like the Oura Ring can help individuals understand their sleep patterns and encourage informed conversations with healthcare providers about conditions such as obstructive sleep apnea (OSA).
Through this partnership, Oura members who experience a higher number of nighttime breathing disturbances can connect to resources from Resmed. By connecting consumer-generated wellness insights with Resmed’s sleep health resources, the companies are helping Oura members take a more informed next step to better understand their sleep health.
“We’re at an inflection point in how people engage with their sleep health, driven by rising awareness and more accessible technology,” says Carlos Nunez, MD, chief medical officer at Resmed, in a release. “By partnering with ŌURA, we are turning insight into action by guiding people across their sleep health journey and making it easier for them to seek clinical evaluation and care if they have concerns about their sleep.”
The collaboration is designed to reach individuals who may not recognize their sleep issues or actively engage with the healthcare system, making it easier to learn about their sleep health and connect with clinical resources when needed.
“High-quality sleep is one of the strongest foundations for long-term health, yet many people live for years with unrecognized sleep and breathing issues,” says Ricky Bloomfield, MD, chief medical officer at Oura, in a release. “By pairing Oura’s continuous insights into sleep and nighttime breathing with Resmed’s sleep expertise, we’re giving people clearer tools and education to spot when something might be off and to more easily access care so they can better understand and act on changes in their sleep health.”
The experience is available to users of Oura Ring Gen3 and Oura Ring 4 who have an active Oura membership in the US.
