Beddr has added five people to its leadership team and accelerate the development of its holistic sleep solution around its SleepTuner platform. Beddr’s SleepTuner, an FDA-registered sleep wearable that launched in October 2018, that tracks and assesses sleep and health data that the company says will allow users to improve sleep quality and identify risks of sleep apnea.

Jagdeep Bijwadia, MD, has joined as the company’s chief medical officer. Bijwadia is board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary diseases, and sleep medicine. Bijwadia is licensed in 20 states and counting. He is a strong believer in patient empowerment and brings experience in dental sleep medicine from previous chief medical officer experience.

Meir Kryger, MD, expands his role with Beddr as senior scientific advisor. Kryger is a professor at Yale School of Medicine. Kryger is the author and editor of several important books on sleep medicine and is a former president of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and the former chairman of the Board of the National Sleep Foundation.

Subarna Mitra recently joined the team as head of product. She was most recently at HealthTap, where she was the product leader for their consumer experience and managed a portfolio of products for personalized full-spectrum care, including telemedicine, AI-based assessments (Dr. A.I) and health guides.

Ed Pienkosz joins as Beddr’s head of sleep coaching from online lifestyle behavior change company Noom, where he was the director of coach and business development. Pienkosz’s expertise in scaling health coaching programs will support Beddr’s plan to supplement its SleepTuner product capabilities with virtual one-on-one coaching for customers to understand their sleep hygiene and receive personalized recommendations on how to improve it.

Ritam Priya is the new VP of quality and regulatory. She is a veteran of Baxter Healthcare and Johnson & Johnson, and most recently, she led quality and regulatory for Eko Devices, which uses AI to help fight cardiovascular disease.
