A new study reveals that close to half of participants say their pet in their bed was helpful for their sleep, according to a KOAT 7 news report.

A study by the Center for Sleep Medicine in Arizona found 41 percent of participants found their pet in their bed was helpful for their sleep and not disruptive, while one in five people found it was disruptive, CBS News reports.

When making a decision to let your pet snuggle up next to you in bed, Dr. Lois Krahn tells CBS people need to be aware of how well they sleep and the pet sleeps.

It is also recommended you clean your pet before letting them under the covers.
