This year, instead of staying on campus in Sutherland Hall, players and staff members have spent training camp at a SpringHill Suites hotel a half-mile down South Water Street from the team’s facility, reports Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

“I think it’s just another way to show the commitment to the student-athletes,” said Chris LaSala, Pitt’s associate athletic director for football administration. “If we can find something that’s going to make you better or help you to maximize your potential, we’re willing to do it. I think you’re going to see that even more across the board in all sports here.”
