The oral appliance developer aims to advance dental sleep medicine through investigator-initiated research funding and a new real-world clinical case library.
Key takeaways:
- Panthera Dental is launching the third edition of its Sleep Research Grant to fund investigator-initiated research in dental sleep medicine.
- The Panthera Case Report Project is collecting real-world clinical case studies to build an educational library within the Panthera Academy.
- The collected case reports recently served as the foundation for the inaugural Panthera Annual Clinical Round-table.
Oral appliance marketer Panthera Dental has revealed two initiatives to support research and education in dental sleep medicine: the third edition of the Panthera Sleep Research Grant and the Panthera Sleep Case Report Project.
The third edition of the Panthera Sleep Research Grant offers funding opportunities for investigator-initiated research proposals aimed at advancing the science of dental sleep medicine.
The goal of the research grant is to allow independent investigators an opportunity to contribute scientific and clinical knowledge regarding the use of Panthera products in the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea. Support will be provided in various forms, including funds up to $10,000 and Panthera Classic or Panthera X3 oral appliances. Panthera may also offer clinical research support, if needed on a case-by-case basis, including up to $3,000 to assist with IRB/EC-related expenses. Proposal submissions are open from rom June 2 to October 31, 2026.
The Panthera Case Report Project, which is already underway, invites clinicians to submit real-world clinical case studies. These collected reports served as the foundation for the inaugural Panthera Annual Clinical Round-table, where leading clinicians and researchers gathered to discuss the cases and recent developments in oral appliance therapy.
Beyond the roundtable, the Case Report Project is part of an ongoing effort to build an extensive library of real-world clinical cases within the Panthera Academy. This initiative provides practitioners with a growing body of evidence-based educational content to support their clinical practice and professional development.
Together, the two initiatives reflect the company’s investment in advancing dental sleep medicine research and fostering collaboration within the clinical community.
“Panthera keeps research and development at the forefront of the company,” says Marc Morisset, vice president of the sleep division at Panthera Dental, in a release. “The continuation of our research grant initiative into its third year and the Case Report Project, which has already led to the inauguration of our first Panthera Annual Clinical Round-table and our vision to create a real-world case library within the Panthera Academy, confirm our dedication to continuously improving our patient-matched oral appliances, prioritizing comfort, compliance, and chair time efficiency.”
