Medical technology company Nyxoah SA announced an investment to scale its manufacturing capacity in Belgium, a move designed to support continued growth in the US and international markets.
In addition to its existing contract manufacturing operations in the US, Nyxoah will expand its footprint in Wallonia. The company has signed an agreement with LégiaPark, a life sciences and advanced technologies business park in the Liège region. This agreement supports Nyxoah’s product development activities and facilitates the creation of a manufacturing facility spanning nearly 2,000 square meters.
“With strong commercial momentum in the US and expanding international demand, we are scaling Nyxoah for growth, investing in increased manufacturing capacity and further strengthening our gross margin profile,” says Olivier Taelman, Nyxoah CEO, in a release. “This investment further secures our readiness to meet demand and reinforces our confidence in delivering sustainable value creation for all stakeholders.”
The new facility will include a cleanroom developed in collaboration with ABN Cleanroom Technology. According to the company, the project also strengthens Nyxoah’s strategic partnership with Noshaq, contributing to local job creation and collaboration across the value chain.
The cleanroom infrastructure is designed to adapt to future production needs.
“We are delighted to partner with Nyxoah and LégiaPark on this project,” says Jo Nelissen, CEO of ABN Cleanroom Technology, in a release. “With future growth in mind, the cleanroom is designed to be scalable and can be expanded in the short term to evolve alongside Nyxoah’s manufacturing needs. This is enabled by our market-leading Configure-to-Order Plus approach, which embeds all critical cleanroom values by design while allowing flexibility from day one.”
Isabelle Degand, CEO of LégiaPark, notes that the park will provide dedicated workspaces and storage alongside the cleanroom.
“These specialized, custom-designed technical spaces illustrate the strength of Belgium’s life sciences ecosystem and will enable Nyxoah teams to benefit from the services and collaborative environment at the heart of the Liège region,” says Degand in a release.
Nyxoah focuses on developing and commercializing solutions to treat obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). Its lead solution is the Genio system, a patient-centered, leadless, and battery-free hypoglossal neurostimulation therapy.
