The new wearable, developed by sleep researchers, tracks key biometrics to provide personalized sleep insights.
Key takeaways:
- Australian company Re-Time has launched the Retimer Ring, a smart ring designed to monitor sleep and health metrics.
- The device tracks sleep stages, heart rate, heart rate variability, blood oxygen levels, and body temperature.
- An accompanying mobile app provides personalized recommendations and a “circadian rhythm score” to help users align their sleep patterns.
- The Retimer Ring is available for pre-order and is expected to ship in early 2026.
Re-Time Pty Ltd launches the retimer Ring, a smart ring solution that builds on a legacy of more than 25 years of research at Flinders University.
Re-Time Pty first arrived on the global scene in 2014 with its blue-green light therapy glasses, which it continues to sell to people with circadian sleep problems. Then, in 2018, it introduced the THIM, a sleep ring for insomnia, based on its patented Intensive Sleep Retraining.
With the retimer Ring, the company takes advantage of the progress in sensor technology and artificial intelligence (AI), to offer sleep, health, and activity tracking, with more exciting features planned for circadian health, apnea, and insomnia.
“Retimer Ring isn’t just another ring—it’s your daily companion for a better life; and that’s just the beginning of what will be a holistic wearable to not just track your sleep and activity but also offer research-based programs to improve well-being. By combining biosignals, proven therapeutic processes, and using the power of AI, we can guide users with subtle cues, insights, and interventions to significantly improve wellness outcomes. I am very excited with the possibilities this form offers,” says Nitin Goyal, COO, in a release.
Key features include:
- 12+ sleep parameters, including stages, efficiency, latency, sleep score, and debt,
- Heart rate, HRV, blood oxygen, skin temperature, VO₂ max, steps, calories, and stress response,
- A noninvasive system to track glucose trends,
- 8-day battery life,
- Titanium build that is waterproof (5 ATM),
- Zero subscription fees smart app, and
- Access to future updates, including planned support for insomnia, sleep apnea detection, circadian rhythm optimization, and mental wellness tools for stress, anxiety, and nighttime rumination.
“At Flinders University, we’ve dedicated decades to understanding the complexities of sleep. Our research has always focused on translating scientific discoveries into practical, accessible treatments to help people sleep better,” says Leon Lack, a professor at Flinders’ University, in a release. “The retimer Ring is an innovative step forward to make the ISR therapy available for the treatment of insomnia in future.”
