The American College of Chest Physicians (CHEST) has appointed Robert A. Musacchio, PhD, as its executive vice president and CEO, effective immediately. In this role, Musacchio will lead the international organization’s day-to-day operations and staff of more than 100 employees.

Prior to this appointment, Musacchio served as CHEST’s chief operating officer over the last year.

Musacchio joined CHEST in 2015 as senior vice president of business development and chief operating officer of CHEST Enterprises Inc, a wholly owned subsidiary of CHEST. During his time with CHEST, he has led the launch of CHEST Analytics; expanded CHEST’s global programs, products, and partnerships; updated the organization’s financial systems and policies; and strengthened business relationships.

Musacchio joined CHEST after a 35-year career with the American Medical Association (AMA).
