Advanzeon Solutions Inc and its wholly-owned subsidiary Pharmacy Value Management Solutions Inc (PVMS) have retained the services of Debra M. Barnett, MD, to serve as medical director with an emphasis on its sleep apnea and behavioral health programs.

Mark Heidt, the company’s president, says in a release, “Dr Barnett has been working with Advanzeon in a consultant capacity for the last year and a half. During that period, the company has been aggressively developing, expanding, and preparing for marketing its sleep apnea program, which we expect will play a very important role in the company’s future and its overall behavioral health program. In her practice, Dr Barnett has developed a significant knowledge base of various sleep disorders that has become a focus for many of her lectures. Dr Barnett’s board certifications include diplomate in psychiatry, American Board of psychiatry and neurology; geriatric psychiatry; addiction psychiatry; an forensic psychiatry. She is also the current president of the Greater Tampa Bay Psychiatric Society. We believe she is ideally suited to work with us in the capacity of medical director with the particular emphasis on the company’s sleep apnea program.”

Barnett says, “I am delighted to have been asked by the company to assume the role of its medical director, and I am particularly delighted to work closely with management in the further development of its sleep apnea program. It is an area that I find particularly significant in our society in that a compelling number of patients suffering from obstructive sleep apnea not only go undiagnosed but, in many cases, their symptoms go completely unexplored. There is a great need for this to change. My work with the company provides that platform. I am currently developing a professional lecture series, supported by the company, which we believe will go a long way in bringing the problem to the forefront of both laypersons and various professionals. I look forward to working with the company and its forward-looking management team.”

Established in 1969, Advanzeon, directly and through its subsidiaries, provides behavioral health, substance abuse, and pharmacy management services, as well as sleep apnea programs, for employers, Taft-Hartley health and welfare Funds, and managed care companies throughout the United States.
