The National Sleep Foundation (NSF) has been awarded Accreditation with Commendation by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). This designation recognizes organizations that excel as continuing medical education (CME) providers. The accreditation runs through March 31, 2023.

NSF offers a number of education opportunities for primary care physicians, researchers, and clinicians focused on sleep health and sleep medicine, and communities. In order to receive Accreditation with Commendation, NSF demonstrated compliance with all 22 of ACCME’s Accreditation Criteria through regular reporting and documentation of performance. ACCME recognizes one in five organizations with Accreditation with Commendation.

“ACCME Accreditation with Commendation is a strong statement to the medical community as well as the public that NSF provides physicians with the highest level of quality continuing medical education courses. We are proud to join an elite group of CME providers, and we are committed to advancing the cause of sleep health,” says David Cloud, CEO of National Sleep Foundation, in a release.

ACCME accreditation is a voluntary, self-regulatory system that assures the public and medical community that the accredited CME is a strategic partner in health care quality and safety initiatives. The ACCME sets and enforces standards in physician continuing education within the United States. It is awarded to those who provide physicians with relevant, effective education that meets their learning and practice needs.
