A recent National Sleep Foundation survey found that the average adult sleeps only 6.9 hours per night and one-half report they suffer from insomnia. Sleep deprivation can do more than make us cranky before our first cup of coffee; it also has serious health consequences.

Consumers interested in taking back the night and getting better sleep are invited to attend a free Regence Engine web seminar entitled, "Sleep Better, Stay Healthier: How to Enjoy a Good Night’s Sleep," on Wednesday, November 1 from 12:00 — 1:00 pm Pacific Time.

The web seminar will be hosted jointly by Regence and the University of Washington Medicine Sleep Disorders Center at Harborview Medical Center. Regence members may enroll for this web seminar on the Engine at myregence.com, while members of the public may enroll at regence.com.

“This free web seminar is just one of the many ways Regence is helping our community take charge of its health. We hope members and the public alike will join us for this important event and learn more about how a simple thing like a good night’s sleep can go a long way towards improving their health and well-being,” said Will McKinney, vice president of Consumer-Directed Health Systems for Regence.
