The fifth edition of the medical reference book Principles and Practice of Sleep Medicine, edited by Gaylord Sleep Medicine physician Meir H. Kryger, MD, was released November 1 by Elsevier Publishing.

The latest edition of Principles and Practice of Sleep Medicine includes a multimedia Web site and reviews how to use the new American Academy of Sleep Medicine scoring manual to help doctors score, interpret, and diagnose sleep disorders.

One version of the book provides easy access on the Web of the entire text, as well as all of the book’s illustrations, many videos of interviews with sleep medicine patients, more than 40 sleep lab videos, and 200-plus polysomnogram fragments.

Dr Kryger, director of Sleep Research and Education at Gaylord Sleep Medicine, has published more than 220 research articles and book chapters and is a clinical professor of medicine at the University of Connecticut.
