The early registration deadline for the Genetics and Biochemistry of Sleep Conference has been moved to January 21, 2008, giving registrants just a little over a week to save money by meeting the preliminary sign-up date.

The conference, organized by Amita Sehgal, Jay C. Dunlap, and Emmanuel Mignot, will be held March 7-12, 2008, at Granlibakken Conference Center and Lodge, Lake Tahoe, California. The program will highlight the extent to which sleep impacts other aspects of physiology, and the progress towards understanding the molecular basis of sleep disorders. The program also emphasizes the benefits of a cross-disciplinary approach to solving questions such as how the timing and duration of sleep are controlled by the circadian and sleep-promoting homeostatic systems, and what essential functions are served by sleep.
