Developers Create iPhone Application for Sleep

Two young developers with expertise in computer science and scientific research created an App for iPhone and iPod-touch users designed to improve sleep.

Daniel Gartenberg and Justin Beck both attended the University of Wisconsin Madison and met at an innovation competition held at the university. After noticing the potential for progress in smart-phone technology, particularly, with the integration of science and technology, they developed Proactive Sleep.

The Proactive Sleep App includes a sleep diary for users to track sleep patterns on their handheld devices. Users can also set their wake-up alarm to any song in their iTunes library. Proactive Sleep automatically calculates how much the user is sleeping based on alarm settings.
The App also includes a stimulating game designed to help users wake up. The App also comes with information about sleep, sleep problems, and behavioral solutions.

iPhone and iPod-touch owners can type “Proactive Sleep” into  their devices for more information.
